AED Jewel Companies

Perform in The Nutcracker, Compete at Competition, Be a part of a Team

Ages 6-18

2024/25 Auditions are April 26 & 27

AED offers a performance-based company opportunity that gives members a chance to perform in The Nutcracker as well as experience what it means to be on a dance team and compete at competitions.    All students who audition will be placed on 1 of our Jewel company teams that best suits the abilities and personality of the individual dancer.  Company members are required to take a minimum of 2 ballet, 1 jazz, 1 company class per week and must take summer dance.  The commitment for a Jewel Company member is 1 year (June – May). The cost of this experience runs from $3500 – $4500 (tuition, costumes, competition fees, performance fees) depending on the level of training that you choose for your dancer (basic or Gold).

How it works,

April 1-26, 2024, register your dancer into either Jewel Company Basic (4 classes per week) or Jewel Company Gold (Unlimited classes a week) on your AED parent portal.  DO NOT register for individual classes.  Your Jewel Company registration is nonrefundable and is your commitment to the 1-year company program.  Registering into the Jewel Company class pays your summer tuition and is your admittance into the audition.  Students who have not registered into the Jewel Company Class will not be allowed to audition.

On Friday, April 26, 2024 2:00pm-3:00pm students ages 6-8 will attend an informal audition class with Miss Kim and Miss Jessie. Ballet and Jazz technique will be taught.  Company placement will be determined from this class.

On Friday, April 26, 2024 3:00-5:30 students ages 9-18 will attend a choreography/practice class where they will learn the combinations for the audition on the 27th.  On Saturday, April 27th 3:00-5:30 students ages 9-18 will formerly audition with the combinations learned from the day before.

Company placements will be posted on Sunday, May 12th, 2024 following our end-of-year performance.

Students who choose Jewel Company Basic will be leveled into 2 Ballet, 1 Jazz and 1 Company class to attend each week.  Students who choose Jewel Company Gold will be able to attend Unlimited Classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Acro

(Tumbling classes are offered at an additional cost.)

This program is for the child who has chosen DANCE to be their thing.  It is intended to train students on a higher level for goals of High School Dance, Drill, Cheer, University level dance and professional careers in dance. Missed company classes will result in dancers being removed from choreography.  This program is not for the child who wants to do a little of everything but for the ones who want to excel in dance.
